Pole spear versus hawaiian sling

While Hawaiian Slings are generally more powerful and offer greater range, the spear is not attached to the user and a poor shot could result in losing the spear.
Pole Spears are generally easier to use and easier to reload. You can pre-cock your spear, approach the target, and release the spear easier, for a more controlled approach and shot.

I should get a pole spear.
It should break down into sections for ease of travel.
It should have a detachable barbed spear tip (slip tip) attached with a tether to the pole.
It should be 8' - 10' long. The longer the better.
Although expensive, it would be nice to have a roller release system for increased velocity and range.

The Headhunter Nomad Roller Pole Spear is expensive but a good choice - around $575.00.
Headhunter Predator Roller Polespear $450.00 from Headhunter.
The Neritic Blue Bantam is good and it has a roller conversion it, but all Neritic's have a magnetic slip tip, which I don't like.
A 10' Neritic Blue Bantam pole spear with roller release system is $450.00.
A 11FT 340cm Omer Carbon Fiber Roller Pole Spear Hand Spear With Tricut Slip Tip is $335.00 from spearfishingfactory or ebay.
